Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains how Legal Recruitment Scotland ("we", "us") collects and uses personal information when you visit this website or contact us about our recruitment services. We are committed to handling your information lawfully, fairly and transparently in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Legal Recruitment Scotland is a specialist legal recruitment agency working with lawyers and law firms across Scotland. For any question about this policy or your personal information, please email info@legalrecruitmentscotland.com.

Information we collect

  • Information you give us. When you use our contact form or email us, we collect the details you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, the type of role or hire you are interested in and the content of your message.
  • Information you share during the recruitment process. If we go on to work together, you may share your CV, employment history, qualifications, salary expectations and references. We only ask for what we need to help you.
  • Technical information. Our hosting provider automatically processes limited technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the website securely and protect it from abuse.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide our recruitment services.
  • To match candidates with suitable roles and to introduce candidates to firms, only with the candidate's permission.
  • To send our quarterly newsletter, where you have asked to receive it. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

Our lawful bases are your consent, steps taken at your request before entering into an agreement, our legitimate interests in running a recruitment business, and compliance with legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only where needed:

  • Prospective employers, and only with your agreement for each introduction.
  • Service providers who help us run this website and our business, including our website host (Cloudflare) and our form processing provider (Web3Forms), which delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
  • Authorities where we are required to by law.

Cookies and third-party content

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website, such as which pages are viewed and how people arrive at the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you visit. This information is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can find out more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We do not use advertising cookies.

Google Analytics cookies are only set if you choose "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner. If you reject them, or make no choice, no analytics cookies are set. We remember your choice in your browser so we do not ask on every page. You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.

Some location pages include an embedded Google Map. Google may set cookies or collect data when you view or interact with that map, under Google's privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as needed to deal with them. Candidate and client records are kept while we are actively working together and for a reasonable period afterwards, after which they are securely deleted unless you ask us to keep you on file.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to ask for a copy in a portable format and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email info@legalrecruitmentscotland.com.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page.
